I get a daily email from Verizon telling me how many evening text messages my son sends/receives. Last night there were 79 picture messages after 1am and I KNOW he was sleeping. Verizon Customer Service basically called him a liar and said he sent them and deleted them and were of no help. Has this ever happened to anyone before where there are texts on your bill that you did not send?

Were you in the room after 1AM when he was sleeping? I'm not sure how anyone could KNOW someone else was sleeping unless they were in the room watching them for a long period of time. Even when I look in on my children at night, I don't KNOW they are actually sleeping.
Were these messages to numbers who are actually contacts of your son?
Did you try texting those numbers from your son's phone saying you inadvertantly deleted the photo and could they resend it back to you? Of course, don't let your son know because if he actually DID send the texts he could warn the contacts.
Of course, if there are apps installed on your son's phone with the correct permissions, THOSE could be the origin of the sent texts.

We certainly want to ensure accurate billing, Annettewalsh. When checking the records of the messages does he recognize the numbers? Were these all sent messages? What type of phone does he have?

Did you ever figure it out? Both my husband and I have a number showing in your text usage that we do not recognize. It shows us both as having sent, or received, pictures/videos, from these numbers (it's a different number for both of us) at all hours of the day and night. His started on the 29th of Jan, mine started on the 30th of Jan. None of these picture messages have shown up on our phones. Some times it's just one a day, sometimes it's three or four a day.
The only thing Verizon did was tell me that the number showing on my line is a computer generated number.
She said that anything showing in our usage had to be coming from our phones, and they must be being deleted from our phone history. Ummm....if I'm deleting pictures from my phone to hide from my husband...why the HELL would I bring it to his attention???
I called the number showing on my husbands line. The man who answered said the number was a new number for him, as of this week. He didn't know either of us and didn't recognize our numbers, even though our usage says a photo was sent to him at 4:26 am this morning. He said he never got the photo.
When I called the number showing on my line, I got the message that says the wireless customer I'm calling is not available and to try again later.
Verizon recommended that I google the numbers. Lots of help there.

This is what is happening it me. My husband and I both have Verizon but it seems to only have happened to my line.
My husband happened to be looking at our phone date log and noticed an odd number he did not recognize on my data log. I didnt recognize it either and called Verizon to inquire why it looked like so many messages were going back and forth from my phone number to that specific number so many times in a month period. Sometimes a few a day, some days many occurances of sent and received messages. Each occurance showing as a Video/Picture message type.
Verizon is basically saying I'm sending and communicating with this random number. When you call the number is goes to a recoerding saying "no route found..." and when you text the phone number I receive an automatic reply from Verizon indicating it is a land line..
The number that is showing is also a local area code number which really makes my husband suspicious... I'm at a complete loss for words or explination as to what or who it is...
Verizon went ahead and blocked the number from my account and everything has since stopped but I still find it all very ridiculous and frustrating that no one in any of the various departments at Verizon had any idea what I could be talking about. I was transferred to four different people, they sent me to the Fraud department and told me it sounded like Spoofing to them and that the only thing they could do was to refer me to IC3.com to file a report with the cyber crimes division of the FCC or something... I spoke to Tech support and a supervisor in the fraud department and no one had ever heard of anything I was talking about. After reading and researching about "spoofing" I dont really think that fits my situation.
After filing the IC3 report online i realized i didnt have a copy of the data log in order to attach it with my statment, I went onto Verizon the next day to try to see and somehow get a screenshow to send, the data was all gone, only for that number that i had called to ask about.. They said it automatically got scrubbed off of my account once we requested that the number be blocked. I was not told i would need to request those deleted logs from the Social Security Administration (?!) if I wanted to request a copy now... ughhhhh
Releived to read of at least a similar experiance. I feel like I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. Any insight as to what may be going on would be so greatly appreciated.

For three months my husband had outgoing pix and sms messages sent to the same 12 digit number,i called verizon 7 times even with both of us on speaker phone, and they told me he was using a third party app sending photos to someone, made me feel like he was cheating.he was not i realized this when the messages were happening while we were together one sunday eveing side by side, also showed he was calling a 8 digit number, went on for weeks i felt like killing myself thought about it,then realized the phone had been cloned, but the people at verizon feed my fear that my husband was cheating almost caused my great marriage to end,we changed the sim card and number and our email,it stopped thank god.verizon needs to train there staff to reconize this activity.

On my account activity, it has picture/video messages going out to a google voice number 315-975-6250. They are at random times on various days. They are always exclusively listed as picture text send and respond. In the phone, there is no message of any kind to that number or from that number. It is my phone. I have exclusive access to it. It is passcoded. I am not sending anything. When you try to call the number Verizon it says cannot be completed as dialed. Does anyone know this number. Is it associated with an app that might be doing something in the background. Are there known apps that I can see if they are doing this. They are exclusively titled as picture/video. Not one regular message.
