Unable to access internet while on call

I recently switched to Verizon and I am using an Iphone 15 Pro Max. I was on another service call with Verizon today when they asked a question that I needed to access the internet to answer. I tried to google something and it did not work. I found out that I am unable to access the internet at all while on a call. Is this normal? I had a Samsung phone at Tmobile and did not have this problem.

As far as I know, Verizon still uses the 4G LTE side of the network for voice calls. So I think what's happening is the phone switched to LTE mode for the call, and because you were on LTE, the data was slower. Unless the phone was saying you had no internet connection at all? What network setting is the phone using?
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.

It is always good to know your options. To clarify, was this happening with all websites you tried to open or specific apps?
