Unable to update payment method on order

I have seen several threads about this. I tried to pre-order 2 iPhone 16 pro max phones yesterday, received a receipt and I can see the charge on my Mastercard. The order even said confirmed before bed last night. Today I wake up to an email saying the payment failed and to update the payment info. I, nor any of your reps can do this. They recommended cancelling the order but by doing so I wonโt receive my phones on launch day (which is kind of the whole reason you pre-order). Someone has to be able to fix this even if it is manually. Whatโs the solution?

Just thought that anyone else experiencing this issue should know, they cancelled my order, then transferred me and hung up after a 90 minute ordeal. So - not only will I not be getting new phones as expected, it has effectively caused an argument in our household. If this is what nearly a decade of flawless payment history gets you, I think it might be time to explore other options.
Just so you know, if that happens, that's 7 lines of service and 2 connected watches that you're losing.
