Upgraded Apple watch activated but still showing as non registered on account

Just replaced an Apple Watch 5 with the new Apple Watch 9 (both with cellular). All went smoothly until I checked my Verizon account and the new watch is showing with all the correct device ID/IMEI, etc. but it is showing as a non registered device and also showing that it is eligible for an upgrade. Of course, the ridiculous AI chat is useless and attempting to talk with a live operator is impossible. I signed up to be called back and, of course, that is a two day wait. After decades of using Verizon, it's customer service has gone completely downhill. Still waiting for my call-back!

I certainly understand your concern, as it is one I would share if I had recently upgraded my device in the same manner, janets52. We're here to help, and avoid a 2-day callback window. Please be on the lookout for a private note from us so we can help right here.

WHY in the world wouldn't you share the steps to fix this problem in the user community? Very counter productive in my opinion, as I have the same problem and there;s no one to help me.

Just replaced an Apple Watch 9 with the new Apple Watch 10 (both with cellular). Of course, the ridiculous AI chat is useless and attempting to talk with a live operator is impossible. I’m still waiting for my call-back! Please help.

Hello, Chubs1210. Thanks so much for reaching out. Help is here. Just to confirm, is everything working with the watch properly? It's just the online My Verizon isn't showing the device and the upgrade date isn't showing correct, is that right?

This is a concern I share as well, and it is unbelievable that I cannot get a straight answer from one Verizon Customer Support Representative on a very simple question that deserves a straightforward answer: Why is my Apple Watch showing as Non Registered on my Verizon Wireless account? My Watch shows as Non-Registered on my account, I have a Support Ticket for it, and keep getting transfer after transfer, and like others in the forum who have asked this question, keep getting no answer from a Verizon Customer Support Representative.

If all your devices (registered or not) work, don't worry about it.
The "non registered" is a My Verizon thing. When you do not use a particular device's phone number to login to My Verizon, then that device will be "non registered" in a group account. You could try registering the device by creating a new My Verizon account for whatever phone number it is, but the system might not even let you since the device is managed by an Account Owner/Account Manager(s) elsewhere.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
