Verizon CNAM Issues

Our company has been trying to fix CNAM issues with Verizon phones for a number of years.  We have some cell phones with Verizon that show the wrong name when we call VOIP land lines or when we check the phone number on sites like numlookup.com.  I have contacted Verizon support five times now to fix this CNAM issue and the last two times I was told they cannot fix the CNAM problems for Verizon customers.

We are considering changing our service provider.

Hi Frank120. We can definitely understand how frustrating that is, especially after reaching out multiple times for help. Caller ID info on landlines is often controlled by the receiving carrier, which means Verizon doesn't always have control over how your name appears when calling certain numbers.

We also have a free service called Share Name ID that allows you to customize the name that other Verizon customers with Caller ID will see on their screen when you call. To learn more about Share Name ID and update your caller name visit:  https://www.verizon.com/support/share-name-id-faqs/

I spoke with our VOIP company and was told that the problem is with Verizon because the CNAM is not correct.  The Verizon Share Name ID won't fix the CNAM problem when calling companies over their VOIP Lines.
