During this outage will calls be going to voicemail?  Or will the be totally lost?  What are the callers hearing when they call us during this outage?

Verizon sure could have sent out a notification to all users!!!!

My prepaid phone worked until 9am EST today where as my boyfriends phone had no service at all. I used a landline to call my phone and my sisters phone and she has no service either (and she has a 2yr contract.) all i got was a busy signal.

Sounds like you need to invest in something a bit more reliable than a prepaid/pay as you go option for your business. There's a reason it's so cheap compared to more reliable (Contract/Postpaid) Options.

Verizon Wireless's claim and JD Power awards I might add are for it's postpaid services. To compare, 4GB data with unlimited talk and text that you get on the $70 prepaid plan costs $110 on a postpaid account, that's over 50% less you're paying with prepaid. Since Verizon Wireless prepaid actually uses completely different, and significantly less amount of towers, has it's own support line, operates as a separate business and everything, it's not included in what has Verizon Wireless all it's awards for the best, more reliable coverage. That'd be the postpaid services you're referring to.

Sorry Mr Verizon...I had the "besrt of class" service with this bunch of jokes for 3 years before switching to prepaid 4 months ago....the customer service is crap in both worlds. And again...$70/month isn't cheap...but the service is.

Maybe not cheap overall, but cheap for the usage allowances it comes with. Tell me any other major carriers that you can get 4GB of data unlimited talking and unlimited texting on a smartphone for only $70 per month?  Trust me I've looked. And JD power is pretty reputible in their customer satisfaction awards, which they gave to Verizon Wireless postpaid services for 4 years in a row! Do your research before presenting an argument please.

So clearly you either work for Verizon or have stock in the company. What makes me laugh is how ignorant you are about "prepaid" and "postpaid". The MINUTE you sign a contract with Verizon you OWE them for the next month. They certainly ride the back of their contract service when selling the prepaid as well, so you can take your JD Powers "disclaimer" and shove it straight up your andriod. Still waiting for any kind of detail or even official company RFO for todays outage. BTW, I ALREADY PAID for today...but Verizon didnt deliver...SHOCKER!!!

I'm only a Verizon Wireless customer with no stock in Verizon sir. Perhaps you don't understand that Verizon Wireless Prepaid and Postpaid use entirely different towers and operate pretty much as completely separate businesses. Again, very incorrect attempt at knowledge on your part.

Also, pretty funny that, from my understanding, this outage ws only with prepaid, and had you stayed with the postpaid services in the first place, you wouldn't be having this problem today, now would you?

yeah, that's the same as someone saying "all you have to do is marry me, and I'll quit beating you"  no thanks...I'm staying contract free.
