Verizon charge me 3 dollars to pay my bill with cash and I then heard from others that the charge is 3.99$. This will most likely send me to another company. They also would not except cash for payment of a new phone and accessories. They said a credit card is required to avoid fraud.
Hello Verizon! This is going to cost you.

Well I have never heard of verizon charging $3 or $3.99 to pay an invoice. however sometimes if you pay over the phone with a rep they may charge a fee. But for cash?
Additionally verizon will not make you pay by credit card over cash, there are laws against such foolishness.
Contact the Attorney Generals or Consumer Protection bureau in your state and file a complaint.
Never have I heard Verizon refuses cash. Simply crazy.
Good Luck

VERIZON didn't charge you to pay with cash.
An AUTHORIZED RETAILER did (A Wireless, Go Wireless, etc).

Hello mbk1,
Thanks for sharing your retail experience with us. We want your interaction to be a memorable and magical one. Based on your posting, clearly this wasn't the case. I can assure you that we do not refuse cash as a form of payment. Also, we do not charge a fee to make a payment. Like Jax_Omen stated, this looks like the events of an authorized retailer. May I ask what location did you process the payment at? For a list of our corporate store, which do not charge to take a payment, here's a link for you.
Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Thank you...

I had the same thing to happen to me at the Verizon Store at S College St, Auburn, AL 36832. They want to charge me $3 if I paid my monthly bill with cash rather than using a credit card. Sorted of made me feel like they wanted to steal my credit card information. I was VERY uncomfortable, but had not choice. My bill was due and I waited until the last minute. I'm a well established customer for several years - have 3 lines on 2 year contracts. If you say this is NOT a Verizon policy, then please tell which stores in Auburn, AL are legitimate Verizon stores. Because the one I went to has all your signage on the outside of their building. Thanks!

The store you listed is a premium retailer. The name of the store is "Cellular Center" and the store sign says that it is a premium retailer. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/storedetail?stateID=&stateName=Alabama&city=Auburn&storeNumber=I2...
There are two corporate stores with 25 miles of the zip code for the city you gave. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/dispatcher?action=DISPLAY&item=_STORE_SEARCH&CURRENT_TYPE_LABEL=V...
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Deion,
I understand your concern, I would be concerned as well. However, that's definitely not how we want you to feel or be treated after several years of loyalty. Thank you for letting us know about this situation, I'm happy to be of assistance and offer clarification. We have authorized retailers that can help you with your payments and purchases, in this case, they may have additional fees our coporate stores do not. Please use this tool to locate the nearest corporate store and make the payment without additional fees http://vz.to/1hTIGEg .

Same thing happened to me in Youngstown Ohio Regardless of this being a corporate store or some reseller , the verizon name is emblazoned on the front of the store. If you want to pass this off as just a policy of a reseller, then you should require signs as large as your logo stating this is a reseller store and not a corporate store. How about taking some control over your resellers and put policies in place to to stop this.

The retailer's sign did have their store name under the Verizon Wireless logo. It was just in smaller font.

I was charged $1.00 service fee to pay with cash! It’s only $1.00 but it is crazy to pay a service fee on a cash payment!! I just checked my bill and I was charged $10 to talk to a representative over the phone who did not take a payment from me!! Every time I log into my account, I get a message that says thank you for being a valued customer for 13 years….definitely not making it to 14 years

Hello, Shandrews30. Help is here as we don't want to lose you as our customer. The $10 Agent Assist fee is charged when a representative makes the payment for you, but we do offer many self-serve options to avoid this fee. Are you able to make the payment yourself via your My Verizon account?
