My family bought 4 phones from Verizon and got e-gift cards came through my Email and the worker who was working at the Verizon store said Verizon will send you four $150 e-gift card and you can use them in other vendors online and also some of my friends said the way to do that is I can move that $600 Verizon gift card to a debit card or something and use like a prepaid card. However, I searched really hard and all it says is Verizon gift card can only be used for Verizon. Can someone tell me is it true and if I can, then how to use them in another vendor. It confuses me because the actual Verizon worker told me I can use Verizon gift card in Amazon and all that. Even I went to the store once again only to ask a question about those gift cards and again he confirmed by reading his computer monitor that I can use them.

Your title is your answer. It's a digital gift card to be used with Verizon only. Much like how an Amazon gift card only works for Amazon or a Domino's gift card only works for them.
Verizon used to do prepaid Mastercards which did work anywhere. The store rep is going off of that. Suggesting a Verizon gift card is the same is being misinformed.

I was misinformed as well. Just switched to Verizon less than two months ago. The employee lied about so much. Said we would receive $450 of gift cards to use anywhere. Such garbage.

This is not the way we want you to feel and we would never intentionally mislead you. Were you not able to get your Verizon gift cards or is the issue where you can use those cards?

Initially my rebate emails (3 total) wouldn’t open up on my iPhone or my husbands. I contacted Verizon and the representative couldn’t help and told me to call the rebate number. Called rebate, gave the lady my tracking number which I had a screenshot from the day I applied for it. She had nothing showing up in the system for me being due a rebate.
Finally got on my actual computer and was able to open all 3 emails containing $150.00 each only to find out that these rebates can only be used for ONLINE Verizon merchandise, not able to use in a Verizon store, or can be used to pay a Verizon bill. The guy in the Verizon store told us the rebate would arrive in the form of a credit card to be used anywhere. That was untrue.
It’s been nothing but a mess with this company. I’ve also read that the rebates are useless and customers are having trouble even using them to pay a Verizon bill. I left Sprint after 20 years for this deceitful mess.

That isn't true. I used mine at Walmart. I typed the number in on the register and it worked. You do not have to use this at Verizon only.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. It is true that Verizon E gift cards can only be used at Verizon stores and on your Verizon account. You can find out more information here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/gift-card-faqs/. JordanL_VZW

However, I could not even use my Verizon e-gift card in Verizon online shop. There is simply no option for entering gift card number and the pin.

I am having the same issue. Is there any way to check the e-gift card balance using card number and card pin and how to use the card for buying any Verizon product.

Then you need to train your staff of this policy. I told them exactly what I was needing the gift card for and they said it would work. They just wanted the sale. This is unacceptable. Esp right now when people don't feel comfortable visiting stores in person. This was to be a gift that was ruined. What are they to do with the gift card now when they won't visit a store. Thanks alot.

We apologize for the misinformation in regard to the Verizon gift cards you have received, as we did not provide the information that you needed. These cards can only be used at Verizon, and can be used to pay your bill, purchase any device or accessory such as headphones, watches, and other electronics.

That is also false information because I just tried to use the 2 gift cards I received for switching providers first I was told I could pay of my cancellation fee from the other company which is false then I was told I could use them to pay off phones which is also false because you can’t add 2 gift cards together and if you don’t have enough on one card you can’t pay of the phone so thanks for all the miss information love a company with terrible customer service and one that gives out bad information to get you business

I understand where to use them, but how to use them is the problem. I got my e-gift cards by email both with six digits pins (which is odd). Now, I am trying to buy accessories on the my verizon app and I cannot find an option to pay with the e-gift cards. I tried adding a new payment form and it only allows me to add credit or debit. So please explain to me how am I supposed to use the e-gift cards. Thanks

lito213lbc, being able to use your eGift Cards is always a bonus. Instead of using the My Verizon App, have you tried to log onto your account on a computer through the browser?

Has anyone been able to figure out how to apply the e-gift card yet? Like others there is not a "more payment options" link on the Pay Bill page so I can't even find a place to enter the gift card. I am using a web browser and not the app. The FAQ is not helping.

I'm sorry to hear you can't pay your bill with the gift card. Please tell me, what happens when you attempt to use the gift card for payment? - Carter
