On October 20, 2018 I called Verizon to cancel my service. I was told that my account would be updated to reflect the change in status (canceling the service) and that I could pay on-line the balance owed.
I checked my account only to discover that my service was not cancelled. They continued to charge me for a tablet and did not adjust the account to reflect my cancellation on October 20. Thirty-six minutes on the phone with customer service this evening produced zero results. The only solution she could come up with was to pay the full amount even though it was Verizon's fault for not canceling my service as asked. Something she admitted to.
I will not pay what I shouldn't owe due to their failure to cancel the service. I will pay what I owe for my last month of service up to October 20.
I have information for filing a complaint with the BBB and the FCC. However, I would first like to file a complaint with someone in Verizon who can resolve the problem immediately. If that doesn't work then I will take it to the BBB, FCC, State Attorney Generals Office and anyone else who will listen.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Hello, you want to talk to Verizon before filling a complaint, thats what I wanted to do when The online agent told me I could change My I phone 7 for the X. I was a few months short of paying it off. but she said I could do and take advantage of the promotion, and prices would go down when I would submit my iphone 7. I even took pics of the conversation,( I do that when doing business online). It never went down, I called many times, the agents are not well trained and they all say different things. And because of that I got stuck with a higher bill. I wil be switching to Sprint. I wrote to Verizon, and yesterday I got a call saying they will do nothing but she will pass the info about training the agents better , haha, do I look stupid for that kind of response? And now I will have to pay for their mistake??? Ill be filling a complaint with BBB and go from there. Good luck to you!!

I have just noticed that I have been being charged for ovetrsages for the last 5 months. Besides being complelety ripped off on a Talk 700 plan, I have been overchareged to the tune of $500. I had alerts set up for email and text and have received no alerts. I hae a sick family memeber and perhaps should have looked at the bill but I did not think I would be getting overcharged this long without an alert being sent.
Going into the store tomorrow and they don't refund me I will be filing a complaint with the FCC, the State of NH AG, and the cosumer affairs division.

In the state of Washington, you file a complaint with the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission. I have "threatened" a couple of telephone companies by simply telling this and magically my issue is resolved. The phone companies d NOT like these complaints. You may have a similar organization in your state.

Let me answer a question with a question. Why would you want to waste your time filing a complaint against Verizon? Big Telecom owns the FCC. And the BBB might worry your local dry cleaner, but not Big Red or Big Blue or Big Purple. Ever since AT&T vs. Concepcion was decided by the conservative majority on the Supreme Court in 2011, arbitration clauses have immunized all communications companies from all forms of suit. Verizon could simply bill all of their customers for premium voicemail service they didn't order, promulgate a random ten dollar fee increase without notice and/or throttle your data in violation of your service contract. And your remedy is this: Each individual customer can fly out to the big city and stay there on their own dime to attend an arbitration. The best case scenario is that a paid arbitrator whose firm contracts with Verizon will determine that you were right. So Verizon will cut you a check for ten dollars without reimbursing your costs. Congratulations, you just lost $500 and twenty hours of your time. You could hurt telecom more by beating your forehead against the nearest cell phone tower.

same problem as I experienced with AT&T the treat you as a fool, they overcharge and don't delete what they promise then go to pay on the treat of cut off and when I tried twice to pay another amount on my phone and desktop both times they changed to amount never approved, its a fraud they force you to pay what they want and charge for things that you did not get, big company, big algorithm and bigger lies. pay a lesser amount I tried twice to and each time they changed the amount with another amount coming out in a few days, exactly why I cut off using the phone and went to the desktop, processing nothing that I approved, its a scheme At&t done to me before, snatching as much money as they can lie about. not at all as requested, and no F-ing accident. its like this voter fraud, gas-lighting is messing up up the world and divides the lines by those who are dishonest and feels they have a right to your money any time place and way they want it. I am a busy person and phone service is something we all have and it bad that charges keep stacking up, one trick, go in buy the on sale phone go have check what you are paying for (even tried to pay it off and they said it had to be financed, thats because it was going to be charged double, a fraud often a scheme by three phone companies, - everything a lie.

They are crooks. I have been fighting with them for 2 months now for the same thing. They don't care about their customers as I have been with them for over 20 years and they are still stealing my money. The managers refused to call anyone back and everyone Verizon is looking to pass the buck to somebody else And no one is held accountable . They knowingly sold me a defective phone then 4 months later did a bait and switch which is illegal to get me to upgrade my plan and now they have been charging me for a phone line that was disconnected in May. There has to be some way to go after them. I work hard for my money and I am not going to let Verizon steal from me without a fight. Theu used to be a great company. They used to care about their customers. They sell garbage phones now to match the garbage service they offer and the garbage cost is the worst. I will, have been and will continue to tell anyone who will listen, interested or not how bad Verizon is and that they steal and knowingly commit fraud.
