Why do my calls go silent for a couple of seconds on both ends at the beginning of a call when using wi-fi calling?

I've noticed that when I make a call which goes over wi-fi calling, neither the person on the other end or I can hear each other for a couple of seconds at the beginning of a call.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I've turned off Wi-fi calling and don't see this issue.  The only issue then is when I'm in the office or our manufacturing plant, I don't receive calls.

Yep, Wi-Fi calling can be a mixed bag, especially on a public or crowded 2.4 ghz network.

Youre making a call over wireless internet. Of COURSE there will be a slight delay.

This cut-off is due to the call transitioning between VoLTE and Wi-Fi (SIP/RTP) calling. It's not a perfect system yet.
