Why is my Verizon Cell Phone saying my Verizon landline is a "Non Working Number?"

Whether I dial on my Windows 10 Preview Phone (Lumia 735) or Windows 8.1 Phone (same), whether I speed dial, select from Contacts, or key in number manually, my Verizon landline number is reported as "Non Working."  Many other callers, not using Verizon cell phones (I think) have made calls on this landline.  Should it or could have anything to do with a FIOS install I had several days ago?

Problem solved!  When I placed my recent order for the FIOS Triple Play installation, the sales rep neglected to specify that I wanted my old number ported to the new service.  For some unknown reason, it took three days AFTER I closed my old ISP account for the ISP (Comcast) to stop my phone service.  I contacted Verizon and they have agreed to "retrieve" my old number at no cost.

Curmudgeon10 I certainly want you to have the ability to call the landline. I’m sending you a link so you can get in touch with FiOS. http://on.fb.me/SGYYEM
