anyone know what this means? I just signed up with Verizon and got new phones. One is for my 13yo and I would like for him to be able to use my old Xr for awhile and make sure he takes care of it. But when I try to switch the phone I get this message.
I would not think Verizon would care which phone I'm using as long as I keep my bill current.

Hello sonlil80, congratulations on your new Verizon service/phones, welcome to the family. Our goal is to offer the support you need.
How are you attempting to activate the phone? Where is the old Apple iPhone XR from?

Hi, if you bought the Apple XR through a different carrier, it's locked to that carrier's network and you need to call them and have it unlocked before it will work somewhere else. Another possibility is this phone isn't supported anymore on Verizon because the network technology has been upgraded in recent years, so older phones won't work.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
