I've dropped so many calls at home and on one road. Good reception at home is virtually nonexistent. I've had to set the phone down and come back hours later to make a call. What if I need to call EMS? ( Headlines read; retiree dies because of VERIZON ) I've called Verizon in the past with this issue and others and was told someone would get back to me about it. (about 10 times ha, ha probably 20, and was on the phone with a VERIZON tech for 1.5 hrs two days ago) Guess what? Never heard back even though VERIZON said they would. VERIZON also caters to people with money and want to screw retired people on a fixed income. No I can't afford to buy a new phone from VERIZON and even though I had VERIZON service for 8 years and you never gave me any break because I won't change my plan. You could give a new phone for free if I sign up for two more years and it would not cost you anything, (NO I WON'T CHANGE THE PLAN AND PAY VERIZON $100 more for the same thing). You only cater to people with money. Where I retired from you offer 20% discount for active employees making todays wages and not the retirees. VERIZON you are discriminating AGAINST PEOPLE WHO RETIRE. I make less now than I did 35 years ago. The wife and I share a car, we have no cable/sat tv only antenna, no home internet, a laptop that is no longer supported and the list goes on. I wonder if older phones do not work as well as newer ones because everything VERIZON does is being set up for new tec? Why should I pay full price for VERIZON partial service? I can not believe VERIZON does not have ONE person with common sense (NOT READING FROM A SCRIPT WHEN I CALL) to take of my needs. VERIZON I read you made 81 BILLION in 2013 how many people do you screw to make this kind of money. I am going to find 100 more places to post this if I do not get some satisfactory results here, one of the benefits of being retired.

FYI - employee discounts are dictated and covered by the employer, NOT Verizon. If your previous employer offered retiree discounts you would still have the discount. Take that argument up w that company not Vzn.
And you do not say what satisfaction it is that you are seeking. If there was a question in there somewhere I missed it. If you are looking for a direct reply from Verizon on your concern you may wait a while as this is a user forum

Peer to peer help forum.
Just want Verizon to answer. *611 or 1-800-922-0204
You may need a network extender but without broadband internet that will not be possible. Only other choice is changing cell providers. Verizon and other carriers do list free devices, but you don't or cannot afford them.
Good Luck

No, the discounts are negotiated by the employer. Verizon took away our employee discount because they decided our auto pay discount is all we deserved! Then, they reduced it to $5 a month….really?! Any idea what percentage this represents!!! 1%. Ha, ha, ha. Thanks Verizon!
