eSim issues after using Airalo

Hello:
I recently used Airalo to get data services while travelling abroad. Ever since returning back to the US, it seems that something is wrong with my Verizon eSim on my iPhone 16. I think I made a mistake by putting my Verizon phone number on the Airalo eSim thinking this was what you were supposed to do, and this may have caused some issues with my original eSim since it wasn't associated with the phone number during my trip.
Now that I am back in USA, when I text some people, even that already have me as a contract, my text comes through to their phone and only displays my phone number +1 303 xxx xxxx instead of displaying my contact name. Or, it will say that my text is coming from my email instead of my phone number (I have ensured that my iMessage settings are set to send/receive from my phone number only, and not my email). It almost seems that other phone numbers have defaulted to seeing my iMessages as being from my email, and not my phone number, despite have the iMessage settings set up to only be from my phone number.
To provide an example, when I start a new text thread with my wife, the text shows up on her phone as being from my phone number (not my contact name), and that the text I sent is to her AND to my email address (even though it wasn't started as a group text). We have both tried deleting our full text message history and beginning a new text thread and it has not solved the issue.
It also seems that the +1 has been added to my phone number that didn't used to be there.
My phone/network otherwise seems to be functioning OK from what I can tell, but it's behaving funny with iMessage. Apologies if this question isn't clear, it's kind of difficult to describe the issue I am having as it is vague.
I appreciate any help that can be provided. Thank you!

jacbbp, I hope your trip was good, and I'm sorry you're having a bit of iMessage trouble. You indicated your normal phone use and data are working propely now that you're back in the USA. Based on that it sounds like your Verizon details are OK. I'd recommend reviewing your Dual SIM settings, based on this Apple Support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/109317
Make sure your Verizon number you have associated with your primary eSIM is set as the 'Primary.' You can also double check with eSIM/cellular plan is associated with iMessage and FaceTime as well. It has further details on how to check that iMessage information on that Apple page. If you've got further questions let us know.
