I am quite frustrated that existing customers can only get a deal on 2 phones and that is it. Which right now, one of those two options isnt even available to order and the other is back ordered. I also took me several phone calls and hours trying to get my last phone ordered along with being lied to by the agent. Now trying to order a phone again, took me over an hour and it is back ordered. Existing customers should be treated better than this

You are not stuck buying a phone directly from verizon. Been years since I did that and no issues. I think even on other carriers phones are back ordered. My guess is they are having trouble getting the parts to make them with the pandemic and all or they don't have enough help in the factory.

Hi, terrk. We appreciate your many years with us and I certainly understand your concerns in regard to upgrade options. I am happy to help. To confirm, which phone are you interested in? Were you able to complete the order with the representative?

They said it went through but.i have nothing confirming it and was told I won't until it ships. It is the a42 5g since the only deals that are offered for an existing customer is $300 off select Samsung. When you look at what options that is, it is only the a42 5g and a51 5g...those are the only 2 discounted phones for an upgrade one of which isn't even an option to try to get. I wish there was better retention efforts for existing customers

Been finding the same problems. Been a verizon customer (both wireless and fios) for many years. Looks like all the so-called deals for a phone upgrade require a new line (which I don't need) and switching to an unlimited plan (again no need ). I am interested in a new 5g samsung to replace my J7V. Most likely A51 or A42 (think the 51 is a bit better but unsure).

We do have offers for our new and existing customers. You can take advantage of all our deals but certain restrictions apply and you have to decide if it is best for you and your family. This is the same for all cellular companies. We have offered great promotions in the past for our current customers. You can view all our current deals here: www.vzw.com/deals I can also take a look at your account to see what options you have. I have sent you a private message. -Amber

I did not get a private message. The phone we ordered, the only one that was available as any current customer deals back on June 12, is still not here and being told it is further backordered even though when ordered was supposed to be here the 29th. We do not have a phone that is eligible for the trade in deals. It took hours to get my order a few months ago corrected and phone and now I am not getting the only phone available for a decent price as an existing customer when I am supposed to. I am not willing to pay $15 to $35/month for a phone for my child. Super frustrated. I understand maybe samsung is behind but then don't tell me a phone will ship by a date if can't garauntee it and make more deals available for preexisting customers with phones more than a year old.

This. This right here is why I am beginning to HATE Verizon. I go through the same thing EVERY time I look to get a new phone. I will spend an hour or more online talking to a Verizon Customer Service or Sales representative. It is ALWAYS this same line of garbage. Telling existing customers that they value us MORE than new customers. I have the same issue that I don't need another line or to upgrade to unlimited so I am unable to get the best deals on phones. When I asked specifically how Verizon values their existing customers more the only thing they could come up with was that they "constantly monitor our usage and billing to ensure we are getting the best deal on our bill.". Which is basically code for "we monitor your usage so we can try to convince you to upgrade to unlimited." That was it. The rep had nothing else to give me on how the value existing customers. Verizon has shown me that the only thing they care about is adding new customers and new lines. Period. I will not be convinced otherwise until I receive the $800 off or buy one get one free deal without having to add a line or upgrade to unlimited (which I already have). Oh and I've been a Verizon customer for 20 years with my bill paid on time EVERY month. The one thing Verizon is good at anymore is getting their reps to tow the company line and read directly from their situations manual when talking to a customer. The only reason I continue to stick with Verizon is because they are the only carrier with decent coverage where I live.

I almost forgot that one thing they did for existing customers, Verizon Up where we get a monthly reward for paying our bill, is now also garbage. There used to be decent rewards to choose from like $5 toward a new device. Now there are terrible rewards to choose from. Verizon literally has just stopped caring about existing customers. Not that I'm surprised considering many companies are like this now.

You mention having no need for another line or an unlimited plan. How many lines do you have? What plan are you on now?

No, phone did not ship on the 29th as it was supposed to. Can't get anyone to tell me if it actually came into stock and they didn't ship mine for some reason or if delayed.

You are dead on accurate. Verizon is squeezing every last penny out of its existing customers and betting that they will not go through the trouble to jump ship. I have been with Verizon for 10 years and only received 1 discount when I opened the new line, and never again since. I have been buying unlocked phones at full price because I do not want to deal with all twisting of words from the sales rep. The lastest story I was told, today actually, is that "We (Verizon) do not make customers sign contracts any more. All we ask is that you give us your old phone, and agree not to cancel your service for 24 months, and then you will get a 350$ discount on a new phone". I was told this by a corporate store manager. How stupid do they think people are?! So insulting! How is that not a contract??? Same old snake in the grass tactics that I was expected to tell customers when I worked for Verizon many years ago. The only thing that has changed is that now I am expected to turn in my old phone as well!! Verizon, you have no right to my property and it is disgusting that you would even consider doing this. What a scam!
