issues after porting to new carrier

  • I have ported my number from Verizon to a new carrier. The port went through and my phone has the new provider as network. I have the new sim card in my phone and I can send and receive texts on the phone and connect to the other carriers mobile data but I cannot make or receive calls.   if someone calls me it goes straight to vmail but says vmail not set up . If I try to make a call it just shows on my screen calling and then immediately goes to call ended..... The phone just got paid off. Could it still be locked by Verizon even though the text messages work?

From my experience with this, if you only just had the line ported, it can take up to 24 hours before it is actually completed and you are on the new carrier completely.  I came to Verizon from another carrier and they told me you can't make calls until the port is completely done.
