its time to go... bye bye Verizon, hello pink people

Verizon has great service but isnt very customer friendly IMO... I hate to take my number and move on but Im at the end of my rope. Im not a huge "phone talker". I text and get on the net and Verizon doesnt provide a "basic" phone for my needs. Some of us dont want all the bells & whistles but if Im going to get the bells and whistles I dont want to have to watch my DATA every month.

Its a sad time for me cause I loved Verizon and I was getting a 18% discount which I wont be getting from the Pink People. I'll survive and so will Verizon Im sure

Lets see, she has the old iPad first generation, an iMac top of the line which I cannot use to save my life. I just bought her the new iPad Air with retina display, and that dumb Sprint Galaxy Tablet with WiFi and cellular connection, she has the Motorola Droid Razr which works OK except for the battery getting old and not holding a charge like it use to. We also have a Sony Tablet, a New Nexus 7 tablet, three laptops, and two desktops in our home. I have four separate WiFi networks running and that does not include my two iPhones. A lot of crap. I would say.

And don't even mention all the Bluetooth devices we have in the house. Its a mad mad mad world.

She likes Netflix, YouTube and TV on her devices. Hey what she wants to make her happy she can have.

Can I move in just kidding.. My folks are not into this newfangled stuff.  Mom will tolerate it but if it was up to my dad he'd have a 1970's Chevy pick-up a 1990's Peterbilt Semi Truck and a black white Tv to watch his cowboy shows on he's the old tradition through and through and a computer to him is something of pain and anguish.. I gave him my phone one day to check out he had in hands for a mere 5 sec. and said which way can i throw this thing..

Did you see how with the iPhone 5S you can save almost anything to the screens? Neat feature. I also tried out air play between my wife's iPad Air and my friends iPhone 5s and I was amazed. Of course the Near Field Communication (NFC) on Androids do the same I believe.

You know there is a new device my wife looked at on line last night and it was a huge phone (android)

However it is only available on Sprint. Drat a double drat. I don't want to switch her to Sprint. Maybe Verizon will get it eventually.

The Galaxy Mega is available on AT&T. http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/samsung/galaxy-mega-nova-black.html#fbid=8eBHOMM5LtC

I'm Like the Tabs from Samsung but I like the Moto X even more since I was able to see some of it's Features and things that curve back is crazy cool Looking..

The Galaxy Tab from Samsung have hard buttons (home, back and menu/recent).  No thank you.  Unless they come into this decade, they will never be a consideration for a tablet option.

So what's your pick of the Litter?   I'm still in the looking part of it,  the iPad's don't look bad but getting use to there system appose to Android I heard can be nightmare so if it's quite more difficult to manage I'd rather stay with android.. I need to talk to some of my family members that have an iPad see if I can get some use time with one.. One option I thought of doing is if get a iPad get one from Walmart or some were like that go with a Wi-Fi only version..

If you have read my posts, you would already have known I made my tablet choice months ago.

Ann bought a Nexus 7 by Google, just like I did to replace the Sony Tablet S. The Nexus is pretty good. It comes in handy for when I am on the couch.

My wife has a new iPad Air with Retina Display (non WiFi) and as I said to you before the Samsung Galaxy 3 Tab which is cellular and WiFi. The difference is the Samsung is much smaller and she can use it on the beach, in the car etc. Where WiFi is not available. Its not as fast or as crisp as the iPad but it has a spot for a SD card, which I put in for her.

The Google Nexus 7 has no expandable memory but it is running KitKat if that is a plus. Also the price of the Samsung is $299 the Google Nexus was on sale around Christmas time for $268 at Walmart, of course when I purchased the iPad Air with Retina Display that set me back around $800 with her covers etc. But I did get a $75 gift card which I used for new covers for my two new iphones.

The stores run specials from time to time but usually Apple products are not reduced. A good point to keep in mind. Also if you don't travel that often its best to just get the WiFi version. To buy the WiFi & Cellular version is a few hundred dollars more depending on how much ram you want, 16, 32, 64 or 128 choose carefully.

Good Luck

Good suggestions Elector I'm just going to have to go with what's in our means and what will befit the most with a new phone I can use it as i have before and with a new one i can go another year or two with the updates) with a new Tablet I can extend a bit more of what I can do with my phone and It will somewhat take the place of my Computer if protection soft ware is completely dropped and won't protect it any longer one other option I've looked at is a new Laptop or pulling the old board in my Tower and putting a mother board an going with windows 7 in the place of XP..

I'm kind on the fence there as well Rc I think the White or Black are both a good choices and can be bought at the store but on the other hand there is one back cover that is in Moto Maker that I really like and it called Woven Black it looks really cool with those yellow accents.. If I don't go for one in the store that is the one I might go for b

Look for the Woven black and Yellow Accents at:

Remember always go to the store. You will find nothing but problems using Verizon online store. And I know. Ha ha

Hey I have the basic black/grey iPhone. I like it. My friend has that goofy Gold one. Yech....

Unfortunately, only the 16 GB version is available at the store I think. Without an SD slot, I don't think anything under 32 GB should be an option.

Well I've ran my Maxx's with 16's for the last two years and they've done ok but If I could of got the 32 Gig Sd's right after I bought the phones they'd probably would of  done some what better in there running because of the extra space..

This time if I can swing it I will get the the 32 Gig Moto X so i have the extra space and because the SD is none removable..
