I had an old flip phone that was solely for emergencies for 20 years. In March 2023 they shut it down, took my $600.00 credit and wont honor my prior plan agreement that I was grandfathered into because they gave me a new phone number when I bought a newer flip phone. I was originally told if I got a new flip phone, I could have my old number back, I could get my credit back and I would be grandfathered into my old account because I did nothing wrong. That this was Verizon prepaid wireless issue because they could no longer service the older phones technology. When I called to activate the new phone, I was told I could not have my old number but they would for sure transfer the credit and grandfather the plan to the new account. After 4 months of countless calls and chats, they are charging me 35.00 a month and no credit has been transferred. The credit was big because they used to make you pay 100.00 a year to keep the phone on. Because the phone is never used, except for emergencies, the funds were never used and rolled over. Then in 2021, they moved to a $5.00 a month fee and they were pulling from the credit until they shut down the phone in March. I cant get anyone on the phone and the chats always say they will escalate the issue and call me back on a specific date and time, but that never happens. So ,I write a letter to their customer care. I got a call from a supervisor who told me I had to call or chat because he could not access the prepaid platform. Complete thievery and lies. After so many years, I am so disappointed. Voicemail jail, chats that cant do anything and stores that call the same number we have to call with no one that can help.
