Tried for several hours and talked to numerous operators and chat agents to get an online order to work.  turns out if you live in an area that's rural and not in the USPS database for residential mail delivery you cant order a new phone from them.  website will not ship to po boxes or to addresses not currently in the USPS database, and if you don't live in the same town as a Verizon store they wont allow you to ship to store either.  Chat agents tell you to call the help line, help line people tell you they cant honor the same price as the online store and cant help you either.  you just cant win.  I think I will have to switch carriers Verizon customer service used to be good, now they just tell you they cant help you with a simple issue.

how is this Verizons fault? So USPS doesn't have the PO Box in the database and somehow thats Verizons fault? Explain that logic to me. So Verizon wont deliver to an address that isn't recognized by the USPS, i wouldn't either if I was sending out equipment that sometimes costs more then half a grand, lets be real here. I would rather go out of my way to get it at a store and make sure it will actually get to me.

Last time I checked, Verizon ships online orders via FedEx Shipping. That requires a physical address usually in a 911 format.

Honestly I'm shocked when I still come across a mailing address for a rural or remote location that isn't in the USPS/911 standardized format.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I'm having the same issue. Pretty much every other company I order from has figured out to put an override button on their ordering process for this type of situation. I have worked with 3 different reps to try to fix the issue. It's ridiculous. All they would have to do is put an override button on the ordering status and make sure that the package has to be signed for to be delivered. I don't have control over whether we're on the 911 grid but Verizon has control over whether they can accommodate all of their customers. For me, this is poor customer service.
