Cloud does not sync all contacts!

Background: I want to use Message+. I really do. I think Verizon is actually trying really hard to make this a quality feature. But there's so much in the way. Currently using Galaxy S6, web and desktop clients for Message+

Problem(s):

When I send a text over wifi (desktop or web app), it does not show that text on any of my phone's texting applications (including Message+ texting app itself, but crosschecked with Textra). Frustrating but whatever...

More importantly (and the point of this post), the web/desktop app does not show most of my contacts' name (they do show up on my phone). I know the web/desktop app connects to Verizon Cloud to sync their contacts. All my contacts are 100% synced with my gmail account (a much more reliable service, sorry to say). So, I open Verizon Cloud and hit "backup" and it will simply NOT sync all the contacts I already have on my phone!! I've done this several times and it will not back up all of my contacts. I don't think it actually backs up any of the phone numbers that are attached to my gmail account (I think it might just be backing up the phone numbers that are attached to my phone account...?).

Is there a way to force Cloud to sync ALL of my contacts on my phone?

Is there a way to import contacts manually into Cloud? I can export contacts from my gmail account so that might work.

And of course, is there a way to force my texting applications on my phone to show the texts sent over wifi?

I'd appreciate any help here.

It's important that your contacts fully sync with Verizon Cloud, joujoubee. You are able to add your Gmail contacts with a .CSV file to Verizon Cloud. To convert your contacts to a .CSV file you can use these steps: http://spr.ly/6584BBPGm

Once you have the saved file, you can sign into Verizon Cloud from the website or the desktop app and select the Add Contacts icon. Here you will be given the option to upload the file.

Normally if messages sent from the web are not syncing with your phone, this would indicate the Verizon Messages application is not set as a default application. You mentioned also using Textra. Have you tried deleting this app and testing the synced messages with web?

Thanks for responding!!

The link you provided is how to import contacts, not export, from gmail. But it's fine, it's a simple step and exporting is the same process.

Using the cloud web client, I went to contacts, hit the circle at the top right to add contacts and then I uploaded the vcf file (the csv file was told it had 0 contacts). It said it "partially uploaded 1893 contacts". Not sure what partially means here.

However, after this, refreshing my message+ web/desktop app now shows my contacts.

Setting message+ as my default text app also fixes the messages showing up.

Thanks for your assistance!

You can do this an even simpler way and that is on the phone change them from Google contacts to Phone Contacts or Verizon Contacts. You can also download a free app called Contact Optimizer and use that to mas change them to where you want to go .  Personally I would go the other way and change everything from Verizon or Phone to Google and let Google be your backup provider for your contacts

@Jakeman1, the ONLY reason I'm even bothering with Verizon backup is so Message+ can show my contacts for the desktop/web app. I'm not going to ever depend on Verizon Cloud for my information.

Also, I can't mass change from google contacts to phone or verizon contacts, at least not on the galaxy s6 - if you know a way to do it, that'd be great. I know on my htc one m8, I was able to upload my current contacts to phone/google/viber/other google accounts, but I haven't seen the ability on my s6.

I downloaded contacts optimizer now and will let you know how it goes (although you probably don't care~)

So they have Message+ tied into Cloud contacts.  Figures they would do this to you (customers all over)  Please let me know if Contact Optimizer works for you.  If it does not (they may have recently changed part of that app) then there is another one that also works.
