Export Text Messages on Android

I use Message+ (from Verizon) on my Android phone for text messages. Is there ANY way to export my text messages to my memory card? I don't want to lose all my old text messages if I use another app for messages or change phones, but it seems inevitable without an export feature.

(FYI, NO, installing My Verizon on the phone won't help! Recommended threads from this site date back to the stone age (2015 and earlier, seriously!).

You could use a text backup/restore app from the Play Store like SMS Backup and Restore

Yes, it is concerning.  Talking with Verizon Support tech, I was given instructions on how to export my Contacts! (HA! They don't have a clue!) No, the only option is from some unverified third party software, which, I'm not sure I trust. But what the heck. If they're stealing my personal information, at least they're doing it competently!  Thanks anyways.

Until you find something why not just send them to your email, that's what I do.  Mary

It's important to us that you receive the answers you need. There isn't an option to export your text messages to your memory card. We just don't have an option to move the messages and their content over. If you need to save your text messages, we recommend backing them up to a cloud service.
