Forgot password for fingerprint ID on my Moto Z Droid Play. How do I recover or renew the password to activate the fingerprint ID, which opens the phone?

We definitely want you to have access back to your phone again. Passwords protect your phone from unauthorized access. In order to keep your device safe, there is no simple way of resetting it. At this point, you will need to perform a factory reset to your phone. When the phone starts up, you may need to enter your Gmail account information to access it again.
