Message+ not scanning QR code on secondary devise

I'm trying to authorize my Google Pixelbook as a secondary device for Message+.

I receive the QR code sent from Message+ for me to scan on my pixelbook. The scanner shows that it's live and ready, but the camera on my computer is not loading a feed of any kind.

I tested it by opening the standard camera application and it works fine that way. I've given Message+ the permission to access camera, photos and more, but still doesn't open when the QR needs to be scanned.

Can someone help? Is there a way to authorize without the QR scan?

We are here to help and understand how convenient it would be to use Message+ on your Pixelbook. The QR code cannot be disabled. Let's dig further into this. Are you receiving the QR Code on your smartphone? BrittanyC_VZW

I have the same problem regardless of the device. I receive the QR code on my phone but it will not scan on my tablet.

ToneGrail Can you provide a few details? What device is receiving the QR code? Are you able to scan anything to your tablet?  Do you receive an error message? DoloresK_VZW

Has this issue ever been resolved? Since Verizon switched to the QR code to activate a secondary device. I have never been able to get another secondary device to work. It worked great before this change and never had a complaint. But it's going on years trying now. I've tried on over several different phones and devices. Still haven't gotten it to work and don't know anyone else that has.

We aren't aware of any issues with this process so we are happy to help. Let's work through a few things here. What are the steps you've taken to try to get this to work? What happens when this doesn't work? Do you get an error or anything like that?

is there a resolution for this?  Im having the same problem on my Pixelbook go.  I've allowed the camera, I've even gotten the camera to open to take a PICTURE in Message +...but when it says to scan the QR sent to my phone, the camera doesn't turn on.  Help?

martatowne, we appreciate your efforts to scan the QR code and I would be happy to help. Have you allowed camera permission for Message+?

Thank you for confirming martatowne. Have you checked the Play Store to see if there are any available updates for Messages +? Is the software on your device up to date?

I too have the same issue, so before Verizon support gives some cheese answer, yes I have the most up-to-date download, yes my Chromebook is up-to-date, yes I gave Messages permission to use the camera.  The screen is black with a redline running up and down.  I tired adding a secondary camera and it doesnt turn on either.  The VERISON Messages + app does not turn on the camera so the QR code can be read, even with camera access permission granted.

Sausage1, we want to ensure you can utilze your Chromebook as a secondary device to receive your messages as desired. In order to do so, you do need to be subscribed to Integrated Messaging. Do you know if you have this feature as a part of your service? The QR code will not generate without it.

I’m having an issue as well. I have a Palm Centro that does not have internet access. I get the text message with the link to the QR code and I forward the text to my email. I then click the link and open the QR code. I scan the QR with my secondary device (an iPhone) and get the error “Please scan a valid QR code”. I then immediately get a text on my Centro saying “Your device now has access to your text messages”. But, the iPhone messages + app is still waiting for a valid QR. What should I do?

SHORTYBISCUIT, We appreciate the details of your concern. We'll do all we can to help. Have you tried to uninstall, then reinstall the Message + application? Have you subscribed to Integrated Messaging?

Yes. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling on my iPhone and iPad. This is my first time trying to use the message+ apps, so it was new installs to begin with. How do I know if I’m subscribed? The QR is generated, it doesn’t work.

Thank you for the feedback Shortybiscuit. I see you said that you mentioned this is a new install. Can you tell me what error are you receiving now when you are trying to access the feature?
