Misleading information on international plan

We recently move to Verizon. My recent experience with Verizon for the international plan was horrible, and leads me to write this comment. As other people have noted, there is no other place to write a review.
Verizon has the daily charge of $10 if you use your phone internationally, but obviously it doesn’t matter whether you use it or not. AS long as your phone is on when you are out side of the US, you get charged for $10 a day, and you won’t even get notifications for the charges. You get text message notifications after you come back to the US. Although with no proof of usage, Verizon won’t refund the full amount for the days the phone was not used. After about 2 hours of call with customer service, we get credited $100 for a total charge of $218 that was charged on international services. The level of stress and frustration to have to deal with this is beyond expression. I would have wished Verizon would have treated its customers with more transparency and trustworthy.

Were you using WiFi for anything while overseas? That's considered international data usage, because the foreign ISP passes charges onto your carrier. Also, if you have any apps left open or apps which run in the background - such things are common and easy to forget about - they're using data.

Correct, the phone was on and was connected to local WiFi. But we would not have turned it on had we known we are charged daily as long as the phone is on. We would have selected a different plan, not the daily plan. We were told after the fact that there is another plan that we would just need to pay $10 dollars more a month the get unlimited call/text and data.

Sorry to hear about that experience. I'm guessing the reason why you didn't get any texts about being charged for Travel Pass until you got back home is because you had cellular data turned off, so then your phone is disconnected from Verizon and can't get Verizon texts. When the foreign ISP passed the charges for the WiFi usage through to Verizon, Verizon elected to bill you $10/day for Travel Pass instead of the Pay As You Go rate for data, which is higher.
There is a $100/month International Service Plan, and customers on Unlimited Ultimate already have international service built into their plan, but international data usage no matter what is not unlimited...on Unlimited Ultimate, you would get 10 gigs of data/month while overseas, and then you're throttled so heavily that data is essentially unusable if you go over. If you have the monthly International Service plan, it's 20 gigs of data/month and then you're throttled at 3G speeds.

Verizon provided the unlimited ultimate plan information to me after I questioned about the charges, but the unlimited ultimate plan information was not provided to me at the beginning, leading me to believe the daily plan was a better option if I’m not using the phone every day. Should I know that I can pay $10 more a month and avoid all theses troubles I would have absolutely choose the unlimited ultimate plan. For what it is, I feel like they are not providing information for the best interest of the customer and I was forced to get charged for a service that I did not use. That is just not right.

This is unequivocally false. No foreign ISP is passing along charges to Verizon when you're using WiFi abroad from your phone. The fact that you believe that's how it works demonstrates a complete lack of understanding. Please don't provide people with false information.
