My phone can receive text but not send them. What can I do?

I have a HTC U11 on the verizon network. It's been happening since yesterday.

I switched the messaging app, cleared all the messages and cleared some space on my phone. None worked so far.

Hi.

I was using Telegram but I tried switching back to google messages and to the native HTC messages app that came with the phone, none worked

I tried while on WiFi and on data, did not make a difference

I tried reseting the phone, turning data off and on and it did not work either

Correction: I was using Signal for SMS and Telegram for group messaging. The telegram is still working and the signal is what stopped working

try restarting the phone
