Now that the CPSC is involved, it is no longer a voluntary recall like it was in the beginning.

Totally agree to agt7575.
Long time verizon customer here; feeling no respect from Verizon onto loyal customers this time up.
They don't deserve we giving them $2000 every year for this kind of services. Yes. $2000 seems a small amount to Verizon; but i would spend $2000/year to other carriers for the rest of my life....that's some significant amount (and i guess i'm not the only one got [removed] off by such handling).

I just had the most frustrating conversation with a rep. Its obvious the whole Sept 30 time frame is completely arbitrary. She told me that Verizon doesn't know when a "fixed" model would be available and after Sept 30 any exchanges would have to be through Samsung. Here's the real issue.. if you replace your Note 7 through Verizon today it will be coming from stock, which means it is, potentially, a faulty device. She also said that if there was going to be a problem with the phone it would have happened in the first couple weeks, at least that appears to be Verizon's position which may be the reason they don't feel like they need to provide any real customer service on the issue. I asked what happened if the problem surfaced after those first couple weeks, she didnt have an answer, or at least I didnt hear an answer from her. My question is.. If Samsung is willing to replace every note 7 Made before the recall, why isn't Verizon willing to participate?

I and many other got our replacement Note 7s today. It took a lot of calling to find out which stores had run out of replacement phones often they ran out in the morning and got a second shipment in the afternoon. I lost my beloved blue color and had to settle for silver or black (I got 2 silver ones). First thoughts: they don't charge very rapidly not sure about on fast charge. I am testing wireless fast charge now. Also my supposedly dangerous first pair of not never got as hot as these replacement Notes. Wish I had kept the other ones! Might switch to another phone (even the dreaded IPhone....bite my tongue)!

I was told by Verizon this morning that the procedure to exchange our Note7's for a new Note7 can work one of two ways.
If you're comfortable using your current Note7, you can wait and exchange it for the new one when they come out. (date unknown at this time)
If you want to turn it in now, you may do so for your choice of any phone and no fees will be charged. You would then be able to turn that "temporary" phone in for a new Note7 when they arrive.....also no fees charged.
They will replace your screen protector at no charge and if you purchased it from a third party, take the receipt with you, she felt certain they would reimburse you but she wasn't strong on just this one point.
Hope this helps someone.

Well this is good news, considering I just spoke to someone with Verizon and they told me that right now they are not replacing Note7's with new Note7's. It simply isn't an option according to the person I spoke to, at least not right now. And when I brought up that charging a restocking fee for something that cannot possibly be restocked makes no sense, I was fed the same line about that being their policy. Sigh.
Wish Verizon and Samsung would communicate properly...it's clear that Verizon has set up "rules" outside of Samsung's parameters. Garbage. It shouldn't be a fistfight to comply with a recall.

Nope. I was just in my local Verizon store yesterday. I got tired of all the hoopla and returned my Note 7. You cannot get a replacement phone until the Note 7s come in and you will not get reimbursed for any accessories you bought. A woman came in after me and was standing next to me at the counter. She was talking to another store rep about what to do. He told her that the chances of having her phone explode are the same as winning the lottery and that the only phones that have exploded were ones that were being charged with third party chargers -- all false information. Over 35 phones have exploded or caught fire in just two weeks -- 35 people do not win the lottery within a two week time frame. Some of those explosions (or at least one) happened when the phone was in someone's pocket. His attorney was on WTOP telling the story. Even though I had no problems with my phone, it never even got warm, I felt it was prudent to return it. After all, if something were to happen at this point, when I am well aware of the recall and the danger, I would not be able to sue Samsung for any damages that could be caused. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

I just "chatted" with a Verizon customer service rep minutes ago and he said that I would receive a text when the new Note 7's are available and they were hoping it would be in the next week...
Now if that was just to get me to shut up or actual new information who knows.. But I'm going to hold onto my faulty Note 7 for now and see if a new Note 7 comes available. As we get closer to the Sept 30th date I'll turn it in to avoid any "restocking fee" of a junk device and wait for the fixed Note 7.. as someone said before.. If I wanted an S7 or S7 Edge I would have bought one months ago.
Just thought I'd pass on what I was told.

I've noticed that some of the posts in this thread have been edited by Verizon but no one from Verizon has responded... I wanted to get a Note 7 but by the time I went to get it they had stopped selling them. I would really like to get a date that they will be available again. If Verizon decides not to sell them anymore I guess I will keeping using my Note Edge until the next note comes out because I do not want a phone that isn't a note. Can someone from Verizon please provide us with some legitimate info on when the Note 7 will be available again... PLEASE???

Funny, i was just told in a VZW Chat session to go into the Verizon Store and exchange it (this was after a small wait to check into it who knows where) and that the updated stock was available now.

Because 20 different people can see the exact same car wreck and tell different stores to people.

"Because 20 different people can see the exact same car wreck and tell different stores to people."
If each of those people agreed that the people in the car were killed, pray tell, what is the difference that makes a difference?
Is it that the car rolled 3 times vs. 7 times?
That the car hit it could have only been traveling 100 mph, and not possible that it was traveling 115 mph?
The driver that caused the wreck was texting, not searching for a better radio station?
To quote one of the greatest statespeople of our time, "What difference does it make?!?"

Metaphors aside.... I think Verizon should be explaining to its Note 7 customers why, if Samsung is willingly, and voluntarily, recalling all Note 7's they are not participating? Is it money? Is it money? Is the wealthiest and largest carrier in the US worried about a few 100K in labor cost that could be made up by word of mouth advertising about how jumped right in and did the right think for all their customers?
So, maybe my phone does't have issues, and their argument is, if you are not having problems, why replace it?.... The answer is .. Now I don't trust my phone and believe it may blow up at any time. How is AT&T dealing with this.... Way better than verizon.. From the AT&T Website. Note there is no disclaimer, there are no conditions.... They are encouraging all Note 7 owners to exchange.. its that simple... What that says is AT&T is more concerned about customers than Verizon is
"Important Information for AT&T Customers with Samsung Note7
Samsung has notified us that they have identified a battery cell issue in certain Galaxy Note7s. They have asked all retailers, including AT&T, to stop selling the device. They are investigating if the issue could lead to potential safety concerns. Because safety is our top priority, customers are strongly encouraged to exchange the Samsung Note7 for a new device. Customers with a Note7 may select a Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7 active, Galaxy Note7 or any other smartphone, and may also return any Note7 accessories. If a customer chooses another Samsung device, he or she will receive a bill credit of $25 per device.
Customers will be also able to exchange that interim device for a new Note 7 in the future. That process will be shared as soon as it is available. Visit www.att.com/note7 for more information."

yeah already started moving my SIX lines to at&t.. Verizon and their rude staff and greedy policy showed their true colors this time.
I'm pretty sure they have Samsung by the throat, said pay us or we'll have everyone go to other phones like our droid z. def not going to let us use a brand new phone and then trade it back in.
just give us an s7 or J and let Samsung pick up the tab. why jerk us around.

I received a msg from Samsung, yesterday. It said that the new note 7's will be out as early as next week.
I'm not sure then, about why Verizon Customer service told you that? It makes me wonder if they actually pulled all the note 7's that were recalled, from their shelves.

I don't know but I just chatted with a rep who said he haven't heard anything about a new batch coming out. I got this S7 edge and I hate it. I actually had to pay 30 extra dollars (for taxes) when I did the exchange...im taking this S7 edge back and I'm probably going to have to pay more fees. But if theyes aren't bring the note 7 back then I better get a more to liking phone..smh...im just very upset

This terrible customer service from Verizon !!
They need to read Samsung's press release.
See below from Samsung updated Sept 10th (Today)
Announcement
In response to our recent announcement regarding battery cell issues with the Galaxy Note7, we are advising that you power down your Note7 and exchange it now, as part of our U.S. Product Exchange Program for all Galaxy Note7 owners. We strongly advise all customers to use this exchange program because your safety is our top priority. Additional sales and shipments of the affected devices have been stopped, but if you already have a Galaxy Note7, we strongly advise that you replace it.
Through the U.S. Note7 Exchange Program, you can:
- Exchange your current Galaxy Note7 device with a new Galaxy Note7 (pending CPSC approval). Select carrier and retail outlets will provide customers, who prefer a replacement Note7, an exchange for a Samsung J Series or equivalent device to use until CPSC-approved Note7s are available.
- Exchange your current Galaxy Note7 for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge and replacement of any Note7 specific accessories with a refund of the price difference between devices.
We know this exchange is an inconvenience, so you will also receive a $25 gift card, in-store credit or bill credit from select carrier retail outlets when participating in the U.S. Note7 Exchange Program.

i ordered the Note 7 on 9/1. A day before the recall. I had and original ship date of 9/7. The VZW Chat person told me today when I asked what the updated ship date would be for me since the phone was recalled that they didn't have any information as to when new Note 7's would be in stock. Even for those current owners who will be returning theirs for a new one.
