I have disabled vibration when typing and backgroud data sync, but what other ways can I save battery power with this phone? (Eris)Any ideas? I tried to readjust the frquecny the HTC mail program checks mail but cannot find the setting. I love this phone but it is a battery monster!

Turn off all resources you are not using, i.e. wifi, gps etc. Then install an app like Taskiller adn kill all processes. That will stop background services like IM.
Which apps are good for killing processes in the background? Anything you can recommend?

go to settings>sync and exchange, go into gmail and i believe you then go to sync settings. idk, im flashing a new rom right now. ill post exact when i get the new rom flashed.
