What does the Droid Eris Update really mean?

I have the Droid Eris and I'm not  "tech savvy" so I would like to What will the phone do after the update that it doesn't do now?  thx!

no one know until the update comes out, there should be an official release shortly before then.  however, in other forums some techies have used the nexus one 2.1 system and installed it on a droid.

they did have to adjust the program to suit the droid and from what they have posted so far is "Live wallpapers" which is a program the makes the wallpapers actually move.  unfortunately this only affects their wallpapers and not any creative ones you might have.

there is a new dock clock for the multimedia dock station (moto droid only i believe)

new gallery

faster scrolling

maybe 5 home screens (moto droid only)

but it really is all dependent on what htc wants. it obviously is going to be different from from moto wants

Open the doors on the base and Endor,

and communicate with every electronic device.

You know fancy Android stuff.
