Some calls and text messages are still going to my old gophone. Verizon says this is not possible, but it is happening. I called Verizon and I was told to power down the old phone for 24 hours and see if that works. It did not. I removed the sim from the old phone, messages are still not going to the new phone. Some calls are going to the old phone. So for now, I am carrying around two phones because I cannot miss any important texts or calls.

You can check the status of your wireless number port at this site:

Just enter your number in the blank and click on "Port Status." There may be some additional instructions for you there.
Turn off the old phone and call customer service at 1-800-922-0204 or *611 from the new phone. A portion of the port wasn't finished. They should be able to assist you in resetting the text message feature or forcing the port progress to complete.
