Yellow exclamation mark/ dead Android when I boot into recovery

Hi,

I like to periodically wipe cache.  When I boot into recovery, first I get "installing system updates" and then shortly thereafter I get a yellow exclamation mark and the Android guy looks like he's dead.

Anybody know what's going on or how I can fix this?  Thanks.

i believe i found fix............when it happens again......on that screen/ TRY TO HIT POWER BUTTON ONCE AND OR VOLUME UP OR DOWN. RECOVERY MODE IS ALWAYS THERE, and dont mean phones bad. this worked for me as well. dont freak out if it shows again. try my tested fix.

Hi,

The phone is generally okay, but the yellow exclamation mark/ dead Android when booting into recovery is troubling as it suggests something is wrong with the handset.

I have the SD card dismounting issue (yes, I have tried different cards, safe mode and factory reset) but am unsure if these issues are related.  Every now and then, it takes a while for the phone to respond to the power or home button when the screen is off, but this is sporadic.

No issues with calls or texts; it has been doing this for at least a couple of months.  Note that this is a release date device.

Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Lennyedge- thanks for the reply.  Just to confirm, you are seeing this when booting into recovery, right?  Meaning volume up/home/power combo?  If yes, how many reboots does it take you for the yellow exclamation mark/dead Android to go away?  Glad to hear I'm not the only one...

I am still having this issue in recovery mode. I wonder if this is really causing any issues with the phone though.  Other than my battery not being amazing I haven't really had any other issues with the phone (the battery is probably not even an issue I'm just used to the iPhone battery life). I guess there is no 100% fix for this either since I've tried googling the issue and not much comes up.

Exact same thing happens to me. I press the Volume up/Power and Home all at the same time (Just like my S5) and I get the dead android graphic also but it then boots into recovery so I can wipe the cache. This happens every time I boot into recovery.. Doesn't seem to hurt anything though.
