it seems futile trying to get louder volume on earbuds.im not gonna blow 200 on buds expecting it to be better.is there a limiter preventing louder volume. ANY GOT A CLUE.my earing is excellent. using S7EDGE.
If you have the screen on it'll give a disclaimer about volume. If you don't have the screen on and accept the warning it'll never go higher than 75% I think it was. All Samsung phones do this for some reason.
its louder now/about time. all depends on what media i use. MILK MUSIC powered by slacker sounds best/slacker always been the best.
I really surprised you need it louder. I usually can only stand my volume with earbuds set on one notch above mute and sometimes that is too loud.

for my 800 dollar phone i want more bang for my buck/unless you own the s7 edge/ you might not understand the sound deviation as i do lately/mine at one notch is barely a whisper. ask any with same device. if it were sony or htc, i would be in heaven
I have used HTC, Motorola, Samsung, Asus (Nexus), Nokia, Apple devices and SanDisk MP3 players with the same brand (and sometimes the same set) of headphones and all of them have been set a the low end of the volume scale and most of the time at one notch above mute to enjoy my music and not have my eardrums hurt afterwards.
Personally I would never willingly purchase an $800 phone especially not a Samsung.

You don't have to spend a lot for good earbuds. I use el-cheapo JVC earbuds & they have more than enough volume no matter what I connect them to. And they sound utterly fantastic when connected to a dedicated mP3 player. Sounds WAY better than any smartphone.
Check the sensitivity ratings when purchasing earbuds & you should be good to go. The higher the number, the better.
i've had good sound quality, plenty of volume with what was in the box with an s3, s5 & note5.
oh my,not a s7 experience yet. something's got to give, that's why i will continue to dig. gotta be another s7edge user that will dig where i'm coming from. all else is moot.
I don't have that problem you are experiencing. All that annoys me is the 75% warning. It should only have to tell me once. This is a new thing Samsung does.
i deeply regret ordering the new earbuds,which was a disaster. paid 100 for them. now on the way back to shipper for refund. they were half the volume and half quality of my existing buds. im done. i did tweak my present ones now only going 70 percent volume, no need for 100; sounds great, now im slightly deaf for today.had to pay to ship back, so i get 80 back.its due to limiter on s7edge. htc dont do that;apple dont. there ya have it.nightmare over
you know you can go to 100% correct? It just gives you a warning letting you know, and you can go past it.
not the point.i dont have to goto 100 on a 800 dollar device to enjoy music. a 200 buck ipod will double that.
90 percent of s7 owners experience the lack of volumes of which is about 7 or more in ten. do a google search on s7 low volume...i counted 30 in first search. i rest my case.i turn it up got warn, the before full volume, it kiks sound down a level; no its not defective.
First page only 1 I saw was based on headphones while all the others were about the speaker. Yes I clicked on them instead of taking face value. My S7E I have no trouble at all other than the warning message.
If you have a problem it is more than likely an app you are using or some media apps have their own EQ and settings which you can adjust.
I notice certain Bluetooth headsets I use have the sound volume separate from the one from the phone. So I can turn the phone to full volume and adjust the Bluetooth headset volume.
Phone Arena tested the S7 & it seems to have about average headphone output voltage when compared to other phones. It did score better than the last years S6, but not nearly as well as the iPhone 6s. (Scroll half way down the page to the "Multimedia" section)

OK, TRUTH BE TOLD, i gots to know, if honest, what higher end earbuds you're using.most if not all always UPGRADE BUDS or bluetooth.if ya got a brand,mention such. or email me. there must be drivers that output louder on earbuds, not apps or settings. thank you for replies.

well, there i went by dumping 130 for sennheiser upper crust earbuds and will update if it was a major mistake.i hope i made a right decision for once.yes maybe a juvenile move but a move i hope i wont regret. ANY more increased quality or anyway NOT to turn it up to 10 would be great. even if 8 would vastly be great/my hearing is super sensitive, and has nothing to do with hearing.
I would recommend taking a good look at the DAC manufacturer of the S7 for each of the models out there. Samsung tends to install different SoCs into the phones dependent on the SoC in use. For example, the Galaxy S3 had a Wolfson DAC, which was a very good DAC at the time for a smartphone, but that was only in the International version of the phone. The S3s which used Snapdragon SoCs, such as the Verizon model, used a Qualcomm produced DAC which was not as capable as the Wolfson.
If you're able to identify what DAC is the problem DAC, and what model phones use it, you should then be able to find out if the 80% figure has to do with a specific model.
Obviously, don't be expecting to drive high impedance headphones off of a phone's internal DAC. But Earbuds shouldn't be an issue. It's better to also listen to things quieter, so long as it's accurate sound. Best to train your hearing for quiet things, not loud distorted audio that "sounds good" because it's loud.
