I just bought the surface duo unlocked with a new SIM card l. But I am visiting family and I am in an extended network. The closest Verizon store is about 45 minutes away.
Can I still active the new SIM card online or will I need to be in coverage area to make sure it activates correctly?

Activations (https://www.verizon.com/support/how-to-activate-device-video/) must be done while connected to our network (not extended network). Please activate your new device when you a solid connection to our network.
