Bad or NO cell service

My husband and I have Iphones.  We live in a development with very BAD cell tower service.  I am a primary care giver for my sister in-law.  When on the phone with an ambulance driver, I lost service.  I have complained several times.  Verizon sent me a internet extension modem thing but that didn't work.  I pay good money for the phone usage and I rarely have cell service in or around my property.  They told me they are updating the towers in my area but won't provide any details of when my service will improve.  It is very frustrating to say the least.  The cell tower is only less then a mile from my house.  We can send a man to the moon but I can't get "good" cell service near my house.  What is up with the phone companies and not providing good phone service?  I don't know what else to do being they won't resolve this issue.  FYI-After being a 35+ paying customer, they disconnected my land line being I didn't upgrade to Fios for internet.  For the record, my husbands phone only allows SOS calls most of the time.

Unless a reliable source has told you the nearby tower is a Verizon tower, chances are it's not.  Even if it is a Verizon tower, it's still possible to not get good signal from it for assorted reasons.  In any case, paying for horrible service is frustrating and potentially dangerous, especially given you being a caretaker for someone.  I'd ask your neighbors as to who they use to see if another carrier works better and port out to them.

Verizon probably is aware of the problem in your area, but network upgrades are confidential information which they will not disclose on these forums.

Hi JudyS3. This is terrible especially when you have a family emergency. Let's take a closer look at coverage and possible indoor solutions. Please reply to the private message that will follow for account specific discovery.
