I have a prepay plan. I went to the Verizon store to purchase the Samsung 7 and I was told that I could not talk on the phone and surf the web simultaneously. I have been to this store several times and have received misleading information. Is this statement true?

You need HD Voice to have voice and data simultaneously. The HD Voice is only available on postpaid accounts.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ann is correct. The newer phones require HD Voice to do this, which unfortunately is not available on pre-pay.
BUT you can on many of the pre-2014 phones if you really need to surf & talk simultaneously. The older phones have 2 radios, so there is no need for HD Voice.

This.
The phones to look for are the ones declaring SDVO support. These are the ones with dual radios.
