I have a Galaxy S4 and my friend has an iPhone with Verizon as the provider also. I cannot send a text to her, nor she to me. This seems to be a ridiculous state of affairs as I can text anyone else as I texted two other people yesterday at the same time I was texting her and those went through fine. I was in the house at the time using the WiFi connection but this has also happened outside of the house on the cellular plan. I have no idea how long this has been going on as I do not text her very often. I deleted her contact from my phone and re-entered it but that still did not fix the problem. How do I get this fixed?

you may have accidentally put her on the spam list on your phone. I would go into my messaging app, then hit the menu key, you should be able to find your spam settings and make sure her number isn't listed. She may also have inadvertantly blocked you on her iphone as well. This kind of stuff happens alot, so both of you should check that out.

I have Verizon Samsung Android. My sister has T-mobile Samsung android. I can receive texts from other contacts except for one person, my sister. I tried all the other suggested fixes but none worked. I then had my sister to try to send a group text to me and my wife and...voila it worked! ...I received the group text. So what I did as a work-around was I just added a fictitious contact with an old landline number (or it could be a fax number or any number that cannot receive text messages) number to my sister's phone, then had her send a group text to me and the fictitious contact/number and it worked. So if you're having trouble receiving texts from one contact you may want to try this work-around.
