Checking contacts changes

My phone has a feature where it lights up and says it's checking for any contacts adds/deletes. Seems to do it a lot when I go to use phone, so have to wait until it's through to use.  It also lights up in the middle of the night to check changes.  If I forget to turn the phone around, it lights up the bedroom.  Seems like once or twice a day would be enough.  How can I adjusts the frequency?

I want to help schedule those Backups at the most convenient time MalteseMom! It sounds like this is related to Backup Assistant. What make and model device do you have?

I have tried your suggestion 4 times. 3 times I picked morning and it

still did day and night. I then picked late evening, but nothing changed.

What's the point of picking a time to update if it's going to update over

and over. I don't know about other people, but my contacts rarely change,

so why on earth would they have the phone check so often?? Once a week

would be fine, this is ridiculous.

Could Gmail, Facebook, or other contact lists be "syncing" in the background automatically?  You didn't say what Android phone you have, but if you go into your contacts, you can see what services it is pulling them from.  Maybe one of those is doing the updating?

It's an LG Cosmos 3. That was in the original post, but somewhere along

the line Android came up in the replies. The phone specifically has a set

schedule in the backup assistant, which allows you to choose morning,

afternoon, evening, or late evening. But all day and night it's checking

for updates, often when I'm going to use the phone. Anyway, thanks for

replying.
