Delayed Text on Moto Z Play

I don't get signal inside the building at work, so I either turn it off or put it in airplane mode until my shift is finished.  When I turn the phone back on outside, I used to receive the past texts in about 5 min with my Razr Maxx HD.  With the Moto Z Play, it takes a couple hours for the texts to arrive.  And when they do, they all arrive at once, regardless of when they were sent to me.  With the Razr, the texts used to arrive in the order they were sent.  This happens with both wifi and phone signal.

That's definitely a bit odd and we want to ensure you're receiving all your messages. What's the zip code for the trouble location? Do you notice that you receive your messages after moving a certain distance from work or does reception improve immediately outside?

Our parking garage is at the end of the block, but I receive nothing until about two hours later while I'm sitting on my couch.  I've tried putting the phone in airplane mode and taking it out, hoping to reset the network.  That did nothing.  I've found that if I text myself when I walk out of the building, I'll receive my text and all the old ones right away.

I upgraded from the Moto Razr, and I used to get my old texts as I was walking to the garage.
