I regrettably extended my contract and got the Devour in mid April. I've had nothing but problems with it losing all my contacts, texts are delayed or don't go through at all, phone stops working for about 15minutes. Now, my phone doesn't work at all!!! I've been on the phone with Verizon more in this past month than my entire two year period before. I spent most of yesterday on the phone with them and even missed the World Cup game. I've learned one thing...THEY DON'T CARE! The only solution was to ship me out a replacement phone which will be a refurbished phone and I won't get it for FOUR DAYS. Since I am outside of my 30 day period, they won't let me get a different phone. So instead they will have one previously loyal customer now complaining for the next two years about how Verizon wouldn't bend to keep a customer. That little amount of money they would have lost to just switch my phone, is not going to cost them thousands in losing a customer and telling everyone at the office, church, HOA, softball league etc how they failed me as a customer. Although I agree they have the best network, once you are under contract, you're pretty much on your own. Like I am. Do not get the Devour. Both people I know that have one are both having the same issues.

they do care, that's why they give you 30 days to return it and are sending you out a refurbished phone. you are being unreasonable.

In my experience and opinion Verizon does not care. If my brand new Devour didn't work, why would I feel better with a refurbished one. I paid $199.00 six weeks ago for a new working one. I pay $200 plus a month, and I don't believe exchanging for a different phone is unreasonable. You are either a Verizon employee or have entirely too much time on your hands. Even if the Devour is $20.00 at Wal Mart (which I saw it advertised in a circular today) If your time is valuable, DO NOT GET THIS PHONE PEOPLE!

wrong. they are replacing your used phone with a good as new phone, this seems fair to me. if you keep having problems with your replacement phones, they will offer you a different phone, but there is nothing wrong with them replacing your used phone with a like new phone.

This is a WRONG statement. They will not give you a different phone. Well it may be different "as in" It's not the same clunker your sending in. But it will be another JUNK DEVOUR!!!! I'm waiting on my 5th Devour in less than 6 months. How is this fair? I use my phone for work and all the down time I have and lost customers is really costing me. Why is it I simply can not get a different Reliable phone? Stop giving people the shaft VERIZON!

Correct!!!!!!! They will NOT give you a new one. I am on my third, maybe fourth now??? My daugther is on her second. I think Verizon has great service as far as people, but these phones are NOT ready. They have issues and need to be taken care of. Also, they have had to send me to Motorola each time, and they cannot even solve the problem. What gives with that? It is their problem. I just want a phone I can depend on.

the refurbs are actually MORE likely to work properly, as they test the heck out of them before they are issued. new phones are only sample tested.....not every one gets tested. i'd actually rather get a refurb, and when i don't have an available upgrade i buy the refurbs directly from verizon. never had a problem. as far as the devour goes....it's a shame...but you got a bad one. look through this forum and any other forum from any other carrier. EVERY type of phone has put out a few bad apples. they will replace it with the same phone that you bought and if it still doesn't work then they may let you get a comparable phone. keep in mind that it's not verizon's fault that motorola gave you a phone that broke. as far as a $20 devour from walmart goes.....they are typically cheaper at other stores. they either sell them for less or don't make you hassle with rebates. when the moto was $200 (after mail in rebate), sams club sold them for $200 w/o dealing with a rebate, and eventually best buy sold them for $99. i've also seen local cell phone dealers sell the htc inc for $150 (no rebate required) when vzn sells them for $200 (AFTER mail in rebate debit card).
