Droid Eris Frustrations, Can I trade if for a Droid

Help,

My wife and I each have the Droid Eris. We have had them for almost 3 months now. Lots of issues with them. They run very slow, we can't even use them when they are charging because the screens change on their own.

I am tired of the issues. Will Verizon trade them for the Moto Droid even though we started our new contract a in January?

I haven't heard of Verizon doing the trade in thing, but it would be great if that happened. Most likely you'll be prompted to buy a new device at full retail price.

You could always try to call in at warranty deparment. Just mention if you can get a refurbished Droid in exchange you'll send in your Eris's. That you are having issues with the Eris.

Verizon changed the rules earlier this year that prevents them changing from one phone to another.  You may be able to find a store manager or tier2 support manager that would be willing to hook you up some way but now it's harder and harder to do.

I've had my Eris since late December, and have not had any such issues. Sometimes I can push it hard enough that it's a bit slow to respond, but it catches up. I've only had to reboot it once due to performance issues. I also regularly use mine while it's charging, with zero problems.

Maybe consider a hard reset before paying full price for a Motorola Droid?
