Error code 9004 on first time VM use on new phone (but old account)

Hi,
Transferred from a VZ LG V30 yesterday to an LG V60. Today I tried to access my voicemail via the app and it went from a lo-o-o-ng time on "Setting up mailboxes..." (2 minutes, maybe?) to a window telling me to call support and report error 9004.
I can dial *86 and get in that way, There was no problem with this on my last phone.
Any advice?
