As many people know, Verizon forces "security updates" and "firmware updates"
In many states such as Iowa and Florida, it is illegal for those updates to change things such as privacy settings... Apparently Verizon never got the memo.
Not only is Verizon able to modify any of these settings, but a member of the lv 1 forums was able to intercept an update showing that during the "app optimization" screen your phone talks back to Verizon, turns on and "tests" features such as BT, WiFi, GPS, NFC, and takes a kernel sample to see if it has been modified. It then relay's that back to Verizon.
The only phone's that are "resistant" to this disgusting spying, are transfers from other carriers, or simply not Verizon phones. Even google Pixel's phone home.
This is unacceptable. I will be contacting my senator and I suggest everyone else do the same. I will be canceling service first thing in the morning.
