I noticed Google Maps on my M8 was recently updated and since I use Maps often for GPS, I noticed something right away which I did not like at all. Previously, when I was coming up on a turn I am supposed to take, or an exit off the freeway, it would say, "Turn left on Broadway" or "Take exit 158B towards Mesa" or something like that. Now, it just says, "Turn left" or "Turn right". It no longer says the name of the street, or which exit to take.
Same thing when you're within 2 miles of a route change...it would say, "In two miles, take exit ### towards ...." and now, its just, "In two miles, turn right". Driving on freeways as much as I do and I am sure many people do, knowing WHICH street or exit you're taking is very helpful. I admit, I did not do too much research on this before posting here, but am wondering if anyone else is having the same experience, and if it can be changed/fixed.
Thanks!

I figured it out, the Google TTS (Text-To-Speech) was disabled. Once enabled, the street names/exit were spoken again. Thanks!

Thanks so much for reaching out! As a frequent user of Google Maps myself, I definitely understand your concern. Is the device mounted on your dashboard? Is this the directional information that also comes up on the map?
