I have a Samsung J3V and it just updated. The new lock screen clock display is 2 lines stacked, I want it back to the single line (aka: normal, readable) display. The stacked clock display sucks.

Go through the security settings. If it was a system update, you might not be able to change it back.

Ok, thanks I tried that, and it was a system update. I guess I'm stuck with this. Who thought this was a good 'look' for a clock?

The update did the same thing to my phone, but did not do it to my husband's phone - which is the EXACT same model of phone (Samsung J320v). Something is wrong, if the update isn't handling the time display the same way. Or, it would suggest that there is a way to adjust it.

My display went to the 'stacked' format after the update. Next night it reverted to single line and next morning back to the stacked format. My wife's phone has never changed and she got the same update (which was successful), as I did. I'm guessing it has something to do with only updating the first phone on an account. No where in the world is the time displayed this way. Samsung, Verizon, Android...just fix it and leave stuff alone that isn't broken!

I just registered complaint's at Samsung Mobile, Samsung Support on Facebook, and also via email at Samsung.com.
I guess that is all we can do, and hope they actually listen.
Whoever thought this time display was a good idea should be fired.

On these phones Samsumg J320V, under Settings, there is a lock screen & security option (not just lock screen), and under that option, there is no "clock" option.
I managed to get a hold of a Verizon customer service agent via FB Msg, and was told there is no way to undo the change, as it was part of the update. However, he has NOT responded to me about why my husband, who has the exact same phone and got the same update, did not have his time display affected. Will post what he tells me, if and when, he responds.

Update to last post - after further 'dialog' with Verizon, they said there is nothing they can do about the time format change in the last update, so who ever doesn't like it will have to contact Samsung. I guess that means they're essentially telling their customers - "not my problem" since they only provide the service and not the actual phone/updates (even though they promote their customers to buy the phone). How nice!

FBPTSC, I understand your frustration. When a phone does a software update, it's like getting a new phone. If there's a glitch in the software, it's possible to effect some devices and not all. We recommend contacting the manufacture at: 888-987-4357 for additional assistance.

Well, somehow the clock display is back to the old normal display. Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks for the responses.

Did you try to do something that might have changed it back? According to Verizon, it was part of the update, and affected multiple models. Samsung has yet to respond to me. Again, I have to stress that my husband's phone - same model and update, did not have the time display affected.

After all the replies, the bottom line is that there is no ability to change the time display on the lock screen for the J series phones. They (Samsung) have it for newer models, though.
Samsung told me that there are many complaints about this, and hopefully (yeah, haha) there will be another update to allow changes. They have no answer about why it would change back as in the case of GUNNIBRONCO1; nor, do they have an explanation about why my husband's phone never changed format - other than to say my husband's phone didn't update properly - and to take it to a Samsung Best Buy location to correct the update malfunction. Yeah, that is NOT going to happen.

FYI, I have NO idea why mine reverted back to the old style of display. I spent most the evening, last night, trying to figure how to change the time display. I woke up this morning with the 'updated' display, but at work, when I tried to show a co-worker the 'updated' display, it had reverted to the old style. It's still that way. I'm no phone guru, but can navigate through my phone's settings, and see no way to adjust the lock screen time display.
Good luck to you. That time display sucks!

UGH it's back.
Where did you complain directly to Samsung? I want to voice my opinion on their new display.
AND WHY DO I NEED TO REQUEST AND ENTER A PIN EVERY TIME I WANT TO SIGN INTO THE 'VERIZON COMMUNITY' TO POST?

I have a Samsung J3v. I have the same "stacked" clock issue since the update on 11/17/17. I just finished with Samsung Support. This was their response:
"I should inform, this clock has changed due to the Nougat update.
All the phones having the Nougat update, has clock pattern like this.
It has been made like this by Google".
All he could say was that they will submit my concerns to the development dept for review and maybe the problem will be corrected on the next Samsung update. So... for now it appears we are stuck... SMH

Just FYI, when the phone is in 'Do Not Disturb' mode, the clock is single line. Do you believe this?

Mine randomly switches back and forth between the single line & stacked
display. Haven't tried do not disturb mode.
