How can I recover deleted photos?

I accidentally deleted my gallery instead of 1 picture. For some reason, there was no sd card in my phone, nothing backed up to Verizon Cloud, and even though Google backup is on, no pictures are in my Google account. I've tried several programs and apps, but can't get to my pictures . I know they are still on the phone's internal memory until they are written over...I just can't get to them! Help!
