How do I check for a virus on my phone?

when I open chrome, google virus message.  is this legit, if so how do i get it off my phone

it's impossible to say  if it's a virus/notification or a link that will take you to a site that will give you a virus.

probably popping up because of a site or game you went or go to or play.

What type phone do you have? Verizon has a app Support & Protection you should be able to run that and it should be able to tell if there is something in there. Also there are a lot of anti virus apps in the play store that may help.
