I cannot get my screen to go to horizontal view like my old android. Also, I have downloaded a couple of aps I do not like. How do I dump them?

This is good for almost all Android phones.
Go to Settings>display and make sure "auto-rotate screen" is checked. That should get you into landscape mode when you put the phone into a horizontal positions.
As for dumping an unwanted downloaded apps., again, Settings>Application Manager. Scroll to the apps you want to delete and tap on it and then the delete button.

Which phone do you have and which one was your old phone? Are you trying to get the home screen in horizontal or in the applications?
