My phone was locked after my son entered the incorrect password too many times. We went to the Verizon store where we bought the phone and the staff there sent us to a "UBREAKIFIX" store to fix it. The "UBREAKIFIX" store recommended I do a factory reset, and this did not work. After leaving the phone with "UBREAKIFIX" for a couple of days, they said they could try and reinstall the original software on the phone for $100, but could not guarantee that this would fix/unlock the phone. I then took the phone to someone else, who said that Verizon does not allow the models of my phone to be unlocked. Is this true? If so, I am very disappointed that my only option I seem to have now is to buy a new phone when my phone is only locked, not broken.

The screen password unlock is not the same thing as the SIM unlock.
What happened after the factory reset? What was it asking that you couldn't set it up as a new phone again?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
