I want my callers to have the option to skip my outgoing message. How do I do that?
Greetings, jcalsetta. Thanks for your great question. I recommend altering your personal greeting to have a variation on the following phrasing: "You may skip the following greeting and be forewarded to message recording by pressing the 8 key on your touchtone keypad". Callers that do that will hear a beep, and may immediately record a message.

Pressing 8 does not do a thing. The outgoing message continues. Did you
try this before sending your suggestion?

I recommend getting rid of all the added Verizon bloat after your personal message finishes. (My message just say's "This is ____, please leave a message, then "beep") Fast, simple & efficient. No more of the speel that normally follows your personal message.
Go into the set-up menu (I recommend doing this from a land line if possible) when checking your voice mail & change the settings to your liking. It may take a few try's to get everything the way you want it. You can also get rid of all the message bloat that YOU hear when checking your messages as well.
