Just got update and battery over heating when charging

Galaxy 8 android update today . now when charging, battery gets hot. WHY ?  Please send update to fix.

Oh, wow MICKEY1956. I truly understand the concern. Our goal is to make sure your device is working properly at all times. I know how important your phone is to you. The Galaxy S8 is an awesome device. I recommend checking to see what apps are running in the background. This could be causing the battery to work harder and get hot. As far as an update, check out the link below to make sure your device is running on the most current version. Let us know if this helps.

have you tried charging with phone off, using the wall charger?

Well it seems to be ok now.  It got hot the first time it charged on the wireless charger.  I have done both type chargers and it appears to be ok, so far.

No, perhaps it was unrelated.  I did nothing new. I might have been a fluke.
