I've had the same issue, and all of my settings was changed along with the update and I do NOT like the keyboard feature AT ALL. We all have a clipboard already to copy and paste, there are apps for translation of texts, and there's already things for grammar and spelling and now the microphone for text and talk is completely gone! It's a hot mess. I'm trying to delete this update since it's wrecked my phone now and just caused choas. Very disappointed.

You need to contact Kyocera directly. You cannon rollback an OS update. I have had a huge multitude of issues as well. I tried everything from power cycling, to factory resetting. I uninstalled and reinstalled apps that quit working properly and nothing helped. If you go back through the different threads relating to this update, you will see that I was VERY vocal about it.
The cure was Kyocera sending me a new phone with the previous software version on it. They told me that they and Verizon have chosen to pause the update. I strongly suggest you email Kyocera. Describe in detail what issues you are having, what apps are affected, what troubleshooting steps you have taken and attach any autogenerated exception reports you have. You will have go back and forth with them a little as they will send you a couple of auto replys.
Here is the link that was provided to me by a Verizon rep: https://kyoceramobile.com/support/phone
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Mine is doing the same thing! All of my menus have changed, my fingerprint is suddenly unreliable, my phone drops out of almost all my apps and my keyboard is wonky. Sometimes my keyboard comes up and sometimes it only flashes up then is gone. This update totally jacked up my phone. And I am sick of game apps being added without my permission on every update!
This update may be the one that breaks me, I'm thinking of taking my family plan to someone like Mint.

BobsWife, we're sorry to hear that you're having problems with your Kyocera after the update. Having a reliable device is extremely important so you can take advantage of your Verizon service, and we don't want you to continue having issues. Please keep in mind that device update are handled by the manufacturer, but we still want to help. What troubleshooting have you tried so far?

I spent 45 minutes on messenger with a rep who at the end advised me to contact Kyocera directly. Ultimately I ended up factory resetting my phone, spending hours resetting it up and the only issue that was resolved is my fingerprint scanner not working. Before that though I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the affected my apps, clearing my cache, power cycling my phone and cleaning up my storage.
I am angry and frustrated that so many things are not working properly. Your/Kyoceras update broke my phone.
I am over bad updates and totally fed up with having apps pushed on me. I hate when I have to waste my time searching out and uninstalling games and other apps that I would have if I was interested in them. But worse than that is when Verizon puts garbage like the new Push to talk app on my phone that I can't get rid of.
Kyocera told me to do all the things I have already done. At this point, if I cannot get my phone back to working properly within 10 days, I am taking my son's old unlocked Samsung and switching service providers.

Verizon, this is a widespread issue with the Kyocera phones that was caused by the March 6 OS update. I want to know why you can't:
1) Offer a phone that does not come packed full of adware new, out of the box that can't be removed without unrooting.
2) Have OS updates that ONLY fix issues and do not install apps or change the visual appearance and basic functions of our phones.
OH! Yes I do. Things like this are part of "planned obsolescence," designed to make us "upgrade". In reality, most "upgrades" are actually stupidly expensive downgrades in function. I will NEVER spend over $250 for another phone. The entire industry is designed to keep us in a constant upgrade cycle. I don't need a handheld computer, I have a laptop.

in addition to the wonky keyboard and screen not responding correctly or doing it's own thing, my Wireless Android Auto stopped working. the WiFi tries repeatedly to attach but never stays connected. Also, if I try to disable the WiFi on the phone so it will stop trying to attach, the WiFi keeps turning back on. I Forgot the SSID for my car and it STILL tries to attach. It's possessed. And I'm not at all happy about it.

I know how frustrating it can be to receive and update and for the phone to stop working as you expected. Most updates are meant to fix issues with the device and not create new ones. The great news is that we are here to help. Can you elaborate more on what issues you've experienced since the update? Did these issues start immediately after the update? If not, when did they start happening?

I'm having the same issues. Apps crash all the time, especially if I have more than one app at a time open (e.g. Spotify and Google Maps). Android Auto no longer works at all (usb tethered). If I'm tracking my route in any app (CalTopo, AllTrails, etc.), my phone usually forgets about it and stops tracking me randomly. The keyboard is also super fritzy. I worked with Kyocera directly when this happened the first time with my DuraSport (Android 12 update and issues started on 3/6/24), they ended up sending me a new phone with Android 11 on it and told me not to upgrade it to Android 12! Well, after about a month of it working fine on Android 11, the phone auto-updated to Android 12 (on 5/21/24) and went back to the same old problems again. Both times my issues started exactly when my phone updated to Android 12. Kyocera's latest and greatest plan is to send me a new (unlocked) DuraSport with Android 13 on it. Sounds like this option will come with some drawbacks (e.g. WiFi calling not supported, Verizon Visual Voice mail not supported, some shenanigans with the SIM card activation, etc.). We will see how this all goes, but at this point I'm skeptical and starting to get used to living with a problematic and dimwitted "smart" phone.
